Did you know that many of the alchemical symbols in the series (like the lizard on Roy's gloves & the Elric brothers' crest) came from historical medieval documents on alchemy?




Many of the names for military members, even Riza's dog Black Hayate, derive their name in part from actual military aircraft & tanks. Including aircraft like the P-51 Mustang, the E-2 Hawkeye, A-20 Havoc, the Hughes H-4 Hercules, Hawker Sea Fury, Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate, as well as the M2 Bradley tank.
